SUMMER  EVENING

Chain Gangs

Summer Chain Gangs

When they take place

Thursday evenings over the summer.  Please check our Facebook or Member Whatsapp group page for start time details, routes and updates.  These rides are for paid-up DCC members only.

Why take part?

A cycling chain gang is a fast-moving group of riders working together in a disciplined formation to maintain high speeds while conserving energy. By taking turns at the front and drafting behind one another, riders maximize efficiency and endurance. This technique is widely used by competitive cyclists, but it’s also a fantastic way for club riders to build strength and skill.

If you are new to riding in a chain gang, please watch the videos below.  We will happily provide you with support on the day too, so please make your self known to the ride leader on the day.

Why join a Chain Gang
  • Boost Your Speed & Stamina: Training in a chain gang helps develop endurance and race-ready fitness.
  • Sharpen Your Bike Handling Skills: Learn to ride smoothly in close proximity to others.
  • Experience the Camaraderie: There’s something special about pushing each other to perform at your best.
