The event is run under the modern day CTT regulations so we will unfortunately have to forego the classic dead turn in the road and you will also need a modern road bike style helmet and working front and rear lights.

Entry conditions for vintage bike riders:  Helmet and lights are the only modern equipment permitted on the bike! 

That means no aero kit (tri-bars etc), TT bikes or skin suits.  

Normal modern day club ride kit (jersey, bibs, etc) is permitted. Although, ideally you will get into the spirit of the event and wear a classic merino wool jersey!

It’s a 1980’s or older period correct bike that should have the following: –

• Ideally a steel frameset
• Down tube, stem mounted or bar end non-indexed shift levers
• If not derailleur gears then either a 3/4 speed internal geared hub or fixed gears.  
• Ideally the brake cables must pass over the top of the handlebars, period hidden cables are permitted.
• No integrated brake and shift levers  
• Flat pedals with or without toe clips
• No aero bars
• No modern wheel sets
• No disc wheels
